JAIDEN KAINE [MASON]
Soon after Jaiden began studying acting in New York City, he immediately found work in film, television & theatre. He has had recurring roles in the Netflix series Marvel’s ‘Luke Cage’ and the WB’s ‘Vampire Diaries’. Jaiden is also featured in the 20th Century Fox movie, ‘Hidden Figures’ starring alongside Academy Award winners Taraji P. Henson and Octavia Spencer.
STEVEN STRICKLAND [JACOB]
In addition to acting, Steven has directed five short plays, two short films and one web Series. Born in Newark, New Jersey, Steven started performing in school and church theater at the age of four. He studied Theater Arts at Wagner College on Staten Island, NY and was the recipient of the Alumni Theater Scholarship. In addition to starring in ‘The Rhythm in Blue’ Steven will appear in Boxed Out Productions’ indie film, "Mars & Venus: Operaon Equilibrium" slated for a 2017 release.
JASMINE THOMAS [JASMINE]
Jasmine received her BFA in Acting from Syracuse University and is currently pursuing a career in writing. Her newly‐launched blog site, FreedomIsFly.com, seeks to have a candid conversation about the truth of the life of a liberated Black artist, and reveals how to use music and spirituality to help heal broken communities. Thomas is also an avid spoken‐word artist and is currently in the process of writing her first novel.
SHEMEKA R. WRIGHT [KEISHA]
Shemeka splits her time working as an actor and print model. Born in New Haven, CT, she began her career as an actress in commercials and model in print publications throughout New England. She is most known for her CT Tourism commercial (2014), the cover of the Connecticut Travel Magazine (2015) and the Foxwood Resort and Casino print advertising campaign (2016). Shemeka studied acting at the New York Film Academy and business management at Southern New Hampshire University.
Brooke DeAnna Robinson (Sasha)
Brooke is a native of Pittsburgh PA. She studied at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and also has a Master’s degree from Georgia State University. In addition to her role in The Rhythm in Blue, Brooke’s credits include various commercials and voice overs.
Bryan Moise (Joshua)
The Rhythm in Blue marks Bryan's film debut. Bryan lives in Rockland County with his family. In the fall of 2014, he will attend Saint Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, NJ which offers a strong Performing Arts program. Bryan found his passion for performing when he was cast at the age of ten to play the role of Lamar in All-My-Struggles, an Off-Broadway production. He travelled with the production company to various cities for over 40 performances. Bryan also enjoys playing basketball and hanging out with his friends. Bryan would like to give a shout out to his fantastic and supportive mom, dad and sister.
CHANTAL MAURICE (Frankie)
Chantal was born with a passion for performing. She began training at the tender age of 11. After receiving her B.A. in Theatre from Charleston Southern University, Chantal moved to New York City from South Carolina to further pursue her acting career. Recent credits include: "Assurance Wireless Commercial, Television Episodics: "Deadly Devotions" and "Frenemies" and the NAACP Award Winning Off Broadway Play, "The Girls of Summer". SHASHONE LAMBERT (Sarah)
Shashone is an American actor and has added writer to her list of talents. Shashone is known for breathing life into her characters while taking the audience on an emotional journey. She does film, television and theater. Not one to complain about the lack of work, Shashone began writing. She has written and directed three short films and had the great pleasure of seeing her work at numerous Theater Festivals. TERESA SMITH (Lucille)
Teresa loves performing on the stage, as well as working in film, commercials, and voiceover. She was featured on an episode of the WBs One Tree Hill and has appeared in two commercials for the supermarket chain, Piggly Wiggly. She has an undergraduate degree in Economics from Spelman College; a master’s degree from Webster University and earned her doctorate in Higher Education-Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Smith was an Army brat, and has travelled extensively throughout the US and Europe, but is proud to call Charleston her home. Dr. Teresa Smith is the Director for the Office of Multicultural Student Programs and Services at The College of Charleston. She is an intermediate level Taiko drummer, and enjoys singing with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra’s Spiritual Ensemble and Gospel Choirs. Dr. Smith is passionate about the care of critters. She has two rescued pets: an eight month old puppy, Finn and a 12-year old Cat- “Gurlie Gurl”.
