Wondering what's going on with the crew from Blue?
You'll meet a few new characters in the sequel, including:
Min. Solomon- Tampa, Fla
Jacob meets 25 year old new-school Chi-town preacher Solomon while he is in Tampa, Florida working on the restoration of South Street Baptist church. At first glance, Jacob thinks Solomon belongs more on a street corner than at the pulpit. But as he gets to know Solomon he learns that there is often more than meets the eye.
Genesis Wilson- Blue, Va
Genesis is one of the youngest (and shyest) members of the adult choir and she's been satisfied with sitting in the back row every Sunday, mouthing the words to the songs. But when the choir director abruptly quits and Genesis is asked to fill in, will she be ready to take center stage?
Pastor Malachi- Blue, Va
When Malachi speeds onto the Elm Street Baptist Church campus driving a red mustang and thumping southern bass music, Jacob is concerned about his ability to stand in for him while he is in Tampa. But as Jacob (and the entire congregation) soon learns, ministry is more than appearances. During his three month stay as interim pastor, Malachi brings the Elm Street congregation to a new level of worship.
Ming Lee- Tampa, Fla
Half Chinese, Half Jamaican, Ming is in charge of the restoration of South Street Baptist Church building and congregation. Will the all-black congregation welcome a Chinese minister?
Dean Caspian Roberts- Blue, Va
When Layla starts her new position as a fellow at Blue University's MFA program, she is excited to meet Dean Caspian Roberts. He has been over the MFA program for more than 20 years, and was instrumental in securing the full fellowship for Layla. Layla is excited to be working with him, until she finds out how he really spends his evenings on campus once the rest of the faculty has gone home. Will Layla keep his secret in order to keep her fellowship and her apartment? Or will she tell all (and lose all in the process)?
